Why the name “Gloucester church of Christ”?

In the Bible, churches were named by location (e.g., Corinth, Ephesus), and Romans 16:16 calls them "churches of Christ." Following this pattern, we are identified as Gloucester Church of Christ.

What denomination is the church?

We're nondenominational because Christ established one church, not many denominations. Ephesians 4:4 says, "There is one body and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling." The Bible teaches that the church is His body (Colossians 1:18), and He is its only head. We simply strive to be Christians, following the New Testament pattern without adding man-made divisions.

What happens during worship service?

Singing – We sing a cappella (without instruments) making melody in our hearts to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19

Praying – Men of the congregation lead prayers. 1 Timothy 2:8

Lord’s Supper – Every first day of the week, we partake of the Lord’s Supper to remember Christ’s sacrifice. Acts 20:7

Preaching – The Word of God is proclaimed, just as Paul preached to the early church. 2 Timothy 4:1-4

Giving – Each Sunday, members give as they have prospered to support the church's work. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2

Our worship is simple, biblical, and Christ-centered, just as it was in the first-century church.

What must I do to be saved?
